Style for less
Bit of an epic weekend ahead, we've got to start again on the paneled loo and try and begin paneling the hallway. This is my latest inspiration for panels although I think IÂ will paint mine out the same colour as my walls.
Both these two spaces have been ones that have never totally worked for me and with so many people booked in for the masterclasses I am holding here I am starting to get even more paranoid and panicky about how everything looks! Its amazing what a bit of old wood does to walls and if this paneling idea works them I am thinking of embracing it big time and converting a room on the top floor into our new design school launching next year. Think big paneled walls, inky blue paint, big chandelier suspended from the ceiling, huge leather desk, lots of little desk lights and a roaring fire and a couple of old leather chairs for Mungo and Maud ! Am excited already but that as they say is next year.
There is something richly glamorous about panels, luxurious they shout instant gentleman's club or stately abode to me. Really its just a bit of old moulding or beading glued onto a wall - how simple is that (shall tell you on Monday)!. Fabulous for a nook or a hallway or a study as it adds instant character.
Enough from me I have to go and style the store its been an amazing week with flowers and vases being brought up as quickly as we bring them in. Also to all you non Londoners our website it getting a bit of a revamp in time for the holidays so you will be able to purchase all the new stuff on line. Its quirky, its cool and even better its all reasonably priced. Next week the art should be in, fabulous lights, carafes and t-lights also in from Belgium, massive cockatoo's, rhino heads and butterflies from Italy and a whole heap more all in store and on the web by the end of next week. Love this time of year.
