Black and white decorating ideas
One of the hardest but most gratifying parts of my job is product design. Its exciting, compelling but also terrifying because I faff around continually tweaking never wanting to sign it off because I think I can push it further and do better. There is a lot of hair pulling on design days coupled with self-doubt and a huge dollop of grumpiness. I have learnt over the years to trust my gut and I use as a barometer this simple test. Would I buy it for my home? If the answer is yes it gets signed off, if its no it gets binned.
So recently I have been doing a lot of research on colours for my new product range and have looked and am continually looking at oodles of different hues. I came across one colour story I just had to show you guys. Black and white â normally I would bin it off and say far to boring but when you throw the odd bit of tribal influence in there it takes any room, bedroom, bathroom, living room to timeless new heights. See what you think, and whilst I wonât be going the whole hog I am certainly taking inspiration from some of the ideas like:
Black and white art simple, sophisticated and classic!
Dark walls with a black and white striped rug - beautiful
Bedding who new this is actually from Ikea! Its the Bjornloka Ruta quilt cover set.
All of these images came from Real Living magazine -an Australian mag which I have to say is one of the coolest around. Cannot wait for it to drop through the letter box every month, the photography is beautiful, the features are fabulous, shot and directed in a way that feels totally lived in and totally unstuffy.
