Cliff Diving

Morning, happy Monday. It is a bit early to be totally happy wouldn't you say (especially with a trip to the gym in about 50 mins) but I'm trying. Hope you guys had a lovely weekend; ours was spent (guess what) painting! The decorating schedule did not go quite as planned. Got the floors of the studio painted and the bathroom but not the bedroom, hey ho no point in rushing it I say. The challenge I am having is that in changing up the paint colour the things that I thought would work in each room don't. Accessories that I put in my down piped rooms now aren't working so well with the new tones. It's not a disaster all the big pieces being neutral are fine its the smaller bits the flowers and vases with shots of bright colour that I'm having the trouble over. So everything is on the move. Flowers that were in the bedroom are now in my studio and vice versa. The good thing is though I feel like I've got a bit of a new house on my hands its not just the paint that's changed its the rugs, art, flowers and so on. Selecting the right colours for a room is a tough task. Colour is a game changer we all know that right, but it’s not the easiest thing to get right. If you are in a conundrum the best thing to do is to pull tears from magazines consult pinterest, even the colour wheel and flag colours that instinctively make you happy. I combine from my gut instinct – putting colours together either makes me leap for joy or gives me an instant migraine it’s as black and white as that. I might not always get it right,  I see colours in my head and then in practice it might not come through but I instantly know once its in the room if it works or not.
